Venison Sloppy Joe Recipe
- Cook 1 lb of ground venison in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Add 1 small onion, sliced, and 1 small bell pepper, diced, to the skillet and cook until tender.

2. Add 28 oz of crushed tomatoes, 10 oz of Rotel fire roasted diced tomatoes, 1/2 tsp of salt, 1/4 tsp paprika, and 1/4 tsp black pepper to your ground venison. Stir well then cover and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

3. While your venison mixture simmers, start making your cucumber pepper relish. Dice 1 cucumber, coarsely chop 1 cup of roasted red peppers, and slice 4 Tablespoons of pepperoncinis.
4. Toss your cucumbers, roasted red peppers, and pepperoncinis in a large bowl with 4 Tablespoons of olive oil and 4 teaspoons of vinegar. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

5. Add sloppy doe meat to hamburger buns and top with pepper relish. Serve with mashed potatoes and baked beans.

Little Cooks Corner
If the tiny sous chef in your life isn’t old enough to cook over a stovetop yet, they can still help with this recipe by chopping the cucumbers, roasted red peppers, and pepperoncini with a Montessori toddler knife. Let your helper finish making the pepper relish by measuring the ingredients and tossing the relish in the bowl with the other ingredients.
