Leftover Halloween Candy Cookies
I’ve heard other moms complain in the past that they don’t know what to do with all the “leftover” Halloween candy. Now in our house, if a recipe calls for “leftover” Halloween candy, it might as well be asking for unicorn liver. We don’t know what leftover Halloween candy is. But this year the little guy and I decided to set aside some of his Halloween chocolate to make Halloween candy cookies. If you’re struggling with having too much Halloween candy this year, try whipping up a batch of these cookies. And if you’re concerned about the amount of sugar in your house, get your kiddos involved and turn this recipe into a fun service learning project by baking a batch for your local fire department or first responders.
How To Make Leftover Halloween Candy Cookies
- Start by melting two sticks of butter in the microwave. Pour the melted butter into your stand mixer.
- Add 1 cup of white sugar and 1/2 cup of packed dark brown sugar to the butter in your stand mixer. Mix until incorporated.

3. Add 2 slightly beaten eggs, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract, and 2 Tablespoons of water to your butter and sugar mixture. Mix to combine.

4. Add 3 cups of all purpose flour to your stand mixer. Mix well. Let the dough chill in the fridge for at least an hour.

5. While your dough is chilling, unwrap 9 fun sized candy bars. Cut the miniature candy bars into 4 pieces.

6. Once your dough has chilled for at least an hour, preheat your oven to 375.
7. Scoop the dough out of the bowl by the heaping tablespoon. Wrap each tablespoon of dough around a piece of cut up chocolate bar. Roll your dough into a ball with the candy bar in the center.

8. Place your cookie dough on a greased baking sheet.

9. Bake your leftover Halloween candy cookies at 375 for 6-8 minutes or until the bottoms begin to slightly brown. Let cool for a few minutes before eating.

Little Cooks Corner
This is the best recipe for including your little helpers. Let your tiny sous chef practice their fine motor skills by measuring and dumping the ingredients into the stand mixer, cutting up their chocolate candy with a Montessori knife, and rolling the cookie dough into balls around the chocolate candy pieces.
