Vintage Budget Salmon Patties Recipe

My mom used to make these salmon patties all the time when I was a kid, and they were always a simple, satisfying dinner. With the cost of groceries steadily increasing, I was excited to bring this affordable classic back into our meal rotation. Made with pantry staples and canned salmon, this recipe stretches a single can into a filling meal for the whole family. How To Make Salmon Patties

1. Combine canned salmon (do not drain), parsley, 1 slightly beaten egg, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, flour, lemon juice, Panko, salt, and pepper in a bowl with a fork until blended.

The bones in the canned salmon are edible, but may be removed if desired.

2. Shape salmon mixture into nine 1/4 c patties. Flatten the patties out slightly with your hand.

3. Dip your patties into additional Panko to coat.

4. Add oil to skillet and allow to preheat on medium low. Once the oil is hot, cook each salmon patty in your skillet over medium low heat for 2-4 minutes per side until browned.

  • 2 Tablespoons parsley
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons onions powder
  • 2 Tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 2 Tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup Panko bread crumbs, plus more for coating salmon patties
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper

Instructions
