Deviled eggs are the epitome of a holiday staple. They make their appearance at Thanksgiving, Christmas, and are an egg-cellent way to use those colorful dyed eggs for Easter dinner. This simple, classic recipe brings back nostalgic memories of gathering around a homemade meal with those we love, with the Instant Pot offering a modern twist and helping hand.
Hard Boiling Eggs with the Instant Pot
The Instant Pot has become my favorite method for hard boiling eggs. I get perfectly hard boiled eggs every single time just by pouring in water, arranging the eggs on the trivet, and pressing start. The shells peel off so easily after removing them from the pressure cooker. I make deviled eggs so much more often thanks to the convenience of my Instant Pot.
How to Make Deviled Eggs in the Instant Pot
Place your trivet in the bottom of your Instant Pot and pour in 1 cup of water. Arrange a dozen eggs on the trivet.
Set your Instant Pot to pressure cook on high pressure for 10 minutes. Quick release the pressure when your Instant Pot is done pressure cooking. After your Instant Pot releases all the steam, plunge your eggs into cold water to cool.
Once eggs are cooled, peel off the shells. Cut your hard boiled eggs in half lengthwise. Scoop out the egg yolks into a small bowl. Mix 6 Tablespoons of homemade mayonnaise and 2 Tablespoons of Dijon or yellow mustard into your egg yolks. Mix well.
Fill egg halves with yolk mixture. Sprinkle with paprika, cover, and refrigerate.
