Handmade DIY Goats Milk Christmas Soap
When the holidays roll around, it’s easy to feel the pressure to spend more than you planned—especially when you want your gifts to feel meaningful and special. That’s where handmade Christmas gifts really shine. There’s just something about giving (and receiving) something made with care that store-bought gifts can’t quite match.
These DIY goats milk Christmas soaps are one of my favorite budget friendly ways to create luxurious gifts at home. Using a simple melt and pour soap base, this project is beginner friendly and easy enough for kids to help with, making it a perfect holiday craft for family afternoons. No complicated soap making, no lye—just melt, pour, and have fun creating something beautiful.
The Santa hat soaps smell like cozy peppermint hot chocolate, while the Christmas tree soaps have a fresh forest pine scent that feels just right for the season. Together, they make thoughtful gifts that work equally well for men and women, teachers, neighbors, or anyone on your list. These little bars of creamy goats milk soap are a reminder that heartfelt gifts don’t have to be expensive—they just have to be made with love.

How To Make Goats Milk Christmas Soap
These Christmas soaps are easy and beginner friendly, but the soap melts can get very hot and the mica can be messy. Always provide close adult supervision when making soap with children.
Making The Peppermint Hot Chocolate Santa Hat Soaps
1. In a small container that you will not be using for food in the future, stir together 1 Tablespoon of isopropyl alcohol with 1 teaspoon of bright red mica powder. A grown up should measure the mica powder as it can be very messy. Wear an apron for this step. Set aside.

2. Use a kitchen scale to cut 1/2 lb of goats milk soap base into small squares. Place in a microwave safe container. Choose a container that you will not be using for food in the future.

3. Melt your soap in the microwave in 30 second increments, stirring after each 30 seconds until completely melted. Use close adult supervision with melted soap base and it gets very hot!

4. Add 10 drops of peppermint hot chocolate essential oils and your red mica powder/alcohol mixture to your melted soap. Stir well until the color is evenly distributed.

5. Pour the red goats milk soap mixture into the Santa hats on your silicone mold. Use close adult supervision for this step, or allow a grown up to complete this step depending on the child’s age and fine motor skill abilities.

Making The Forest Pine Christmas Tree Soaps
6. In another small container that will not be used for food in the future, mix together 1 Tablespoon of isopropyl alcohol with 1 teaspoon of grass green mica powder. A grown up should complete this step as the mica powder can be extremely messy. Wear an apron to complete this step to avoid staining. Set aside.

7. Cut 1/2 lb of goats milk melt and pour soap base into small cubes and place in a microwave safe container. Melt in the microwave in 30 second increments, stirring after each 30 seconds, until completely melted. Use close adult supervision for this step. The soap gets very hot.

8. Add 10 drops of forest pine essential oil and your green mica powder mixture to your melted goats milk soap base. Stir well until the color is evenly distributed.

9. Pour your green forest pine scented goats milk soap mixture into the Christmas tree portions of your silicone mold. Use close adult supervision for this step, or allow a grown up to complete this step depending on the child’s age and fine motor skill abilities.
10. Once all of your molds are filled, spritz the top of each soap with a small amount of isopropyl alcohol in a spray bottle. Let your Christmas soaps cure and set in the molds for 24 hours.

11. After 24 hours, carefully flip your silicone mold over and pop out your beautiful new soaps.
