Finnish Cardamom Cookies – A Traditional Recipe

cardamom cookies on a Christmas tray for Santa

The subtle sweet and warm flavors of these traditional Finnish cardamom cookies are the epitome of holiday cheer for our family. These are the cookies my family leaves for Santa, packs into holiday goodie boxes for neighbors and friends, and enjoys with hot cocoa in front of the fireplace on Christmas Eve. I hope this recipe can become a new tradition for you family this holiday season as well.

How To Make Finnish Cardamom Cookies

  1. Preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour a cookie sheet. Set aside.
Don’t skip this step. The greased and floured cookie sheet keeps your cookies from spreading too thin while baking.

  1. I’ve never seen cardamom in cookies before! I bet it’s so good. I’m saving this recipe!

  2. They look really good. We used cardamom a lot in German cookies and I like to put it in a lot of my recipes like Pumpkin bread and spice tea. I pinned your recipe so I can try it sometime soon.
